with a specialization in software and embedded systems.

Jon is an active contributor to free and open source projects like MyPaint and
OpenRaster, and frequently fixes issues he finds annoying in other projects.

Talk Abstract: 

OpenRaster is a open file format for multi-layer raster (pixel-based) images.
The development was started at Libre Graphics Meeting in order to solve
exchange of raster documents betweeen FOSS applications. Today it has
basic supported by a number of FOSS applications, but a lot of work remains to
be done.

This talk will cover:
- The motivation behind OpenRaster, and why you should care
- A short overview of the history
- Brief introduction to the technical concepts of the file format
- Summarize the current status of specification and implementations
- Explain how you can help

Primary audience is application developers and end users interested in
graphics.
